experience): $190.86 - $224.52 . Job Summary The ER physician is
responsible for treating patients that present in the Emergency
Room. As part of a care team, the Provider should be willing to
help the hospital, healthcare district, and community advance by
acting as a consultant for providers in local clinics, supervising
Urgent Care providers, covering Rapid Response requests in the
Medical Unit, and supporting improvement initiatives in the ED to
include ICD-10 compliance, Care Transformation, Electronic Medical
Record integration, Utilization Review, Quality Initiatives, and
training drills. Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities *Provides
services to the District as a physician, in accordance with the
Physician Employment Agreement. Takes ownership for care of
assigned panel of patients. Provides first contact, continuous,
comprehensive primary care for infants, children, youth and adults
according to current standards of care and the patient centered
medical home model. *Provide timely completeness and content of
charts. Perform assessment/examinations on initial encounter with
unscheduled, emergency and new patients. Coordinate patient
treatment plan and consult specialists as appropriate. Order and
interpret appropriate diagnostic tests necessary to complete the
evaluation and treatment plan. Work collaboratively and
supportively with members of the medical staff to provide emergency
services to all patients who present to the emergency department.
\Assists in the development of clinical protocols; assists with the
plan of action to facilitate problem resolution; charts actions
appropriately. Meets or exceeds quality care standards, achieves
clinical excellence, contributes to quality improvement, and
strives for high patient satisfaction. Independently plans work and
develops procedures to accomplish goals. Participates actively in
the quality improvement system, complies with all appropriate
Washington State Department of Health standards, National Patient
Safety goals, and other quality improvement projects. Maintains
appropriate, accurate and timely records using a computerized
record keeping and coding system. Maintains professional skills
through research and training/continuing education opportunities.
Participates in interdisciplinary meetings; stays abreast of trends
and best practices; develops and implements new and revised
methods, practices, policies, techniques and procedures. Ensures
compliance with all regulatory requirements and federal, state and

Required Education and Experience Successful completion of either:
An approved ACGME/AOA accredited residency program in Emergency
Medicine with fulfillment or qualification of board certification
within the requirements of the American Board of Emergency Medicine
(ABEM); American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM) or
the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS). The successful
applicant must be able to demonstrate that he or she has been in
active Emergency Medicine practice within the past 24 months.
Residency training within the past 24 months satisfies this
requirement. Reciprocity agreements with international boards will
apply; or An approved ACGME/AOA accredited residency program with
fulfillment or qualification of board certification within the
requirements of the applicant's board in an appropriate primary
care specialty, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine,
Pediatrics, and General Surgery. Reciprocity agreements with
international boards will apply, or Successful completion of an
accredited naturopathic medical school program (Council on
Naturopathic Medical Education). Board certification does not
apply. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate that he
or she has been in active practice within the last 24 months in an
appropriate specialty such as Family Medicine. Required Licenses,
Certifications and/or Registrations Active Washington State MD, DO
or ND license Board certified or eligible in Emergency, Family, or
Internal Medicine Active unrestricted Washing State registered DEA
ACLS & PALS : Provide documentation of current ACLS, PALS, ATLS
training and certification (not required for ABEM/AOBEM Board
Certified physicians). ATLS : Within 6 months of hire Documentation
of training and/or certification in utility of bedside ultrasound
techniques (not required for ABEM/AOBEM Board Certified or eligible
physicians) Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to
diagnose, develop treatment plans, and treat patients across a
broad spectrum of medical diagnosis. Proficient in the use of
current technology and computers; ability to learn and effectively
use new programs and equipment. Professional and effective written
and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and employ
communication strategies appropriate to the audience. Ability to
cultivate effective partnerships and work in collaboration with
providers, other health care professionals, managers, and patients.
Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation and records.
Ability to work independently performing a wide variety of duties
that require the use of independent judgment, advanced
problem-solving, critical thinking, organization, and
