Job Description:
Description Join the compassionate and high?performing team at
the Swedish Maternal Fetal Specialty Center, where you’ll play a
vital role supporting complex patient care for expectant parents
and families. As a Senior Medical Assistant, you will help ensure a
seamless, supportive clinic experience by coordinating multiple
patient care services and independently managing a wide range of
clerical and administrative responsibilities. In this advanced
role, you will exercise strong independence and judgment while
planning and completing diverse clinic coordination tasks. Your
responsibilities will include: - Patient Scheduling & Coordination:
Scheduling new patient visits, follow?up appointments, treatment
sessions, and diagnostic tests. - Insurance Support: Securing
insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations to ensure
timely patient care. - Medical Record Management: Preparing,
updating, and maintaining comprehensive patient medical records. -
Billing Support: Reconciling billing issues in collaboration with
the clinic team. - Patient Communication: Managing multiple phone
lines, triaging incoming calls, and addressing patient needs with
professionalism and compassion. The Senior Medical Assistant
interacts with patients and families during some of their most
vulnerable moments. For this reason, excellent communication
skills, strong problem?solving abilities, compassion, sensitivity,
and emotional stability are essential. As a key member of the
physician practice team, you will also serve as a professional
liaison between patients, families, providers, and other
departments—helping create a coordinated and reassuring care

we must empower them. Required Qualifications: - Graduate of
certified medical assistant program - Washington Medical Assistant
Certification upon hire - National Provider BLS - American Heart
Association upon hire - 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a
healthcare setting required (i.e. physician’s office, scheduler,
etc.) Preferred Qualifications: - Associate's Degree or equivalent
from a two-year college or technical school with emphasis in Health
Care - Experienced in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals

for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage
range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job
experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base
pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role,
such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums,
