Center), ICU pts will be seen by HMC dialysis staff/travelers
Special Procedures/Unit Details : Primarily a more supervisor
roleRegulatory data, machines and maintenance of machines (water
and cleaning)Coordinate scheduling between ICUs and staffing office
If extra support is needed to complete treatments, Lead techs will
do dialysis treatment in addition to admin responsibilities.The
Dialysis Technician works under the direction of the unit
registered nurse, supervisor, or manager to support the safe and
effective delivery of patient care.Primary duties include: -
Assemble, prepare, prime, and set up dialysis equipment and
materials in the dialysis lab and at patient bedside according to
nephrology orders. - Maintain current knowledge of operation
procedures and maintenance of dialysis equipment. - Coordinate with
Nursing Staff to determine prioritization and timeliness of
procedures. (Lead) - Expert fistula and HD catheter accessing
abilities.Under the supervision of dialysis RN, couple and uncouple
patients to dialysis machines, monitor treatment, observe patient
tolerance to treatment and report changes to physician and/or RN,
make equipment adjustments to avoid adverse patient effects, adjust
apparatus parameters based on patient conditions. - Reprocess and
disinfect hemodialysis equipment per policy and procedure. -
Aseptically dispense dialysis solution to include calculating,
measuring pre-weight of dry chemicals, and verifying through
chemical analysis for accuracy. - Make changes in dialysis
composition by compounding any additions such as potassium,
calcium, urea, and magnesium. - Prepare and mix bicarbonate
solution for patient use. - Perform related duties as required. -
Maintain inventory of supplies. - Be physically able to move/push
dialysis machines throughout hospital and able to lift 50 pounds.
Special Equipment : Fresenius T machines - HARDSTOP willing to
review outpt HD techs who have Fresenius experience. Please screen
those who only have outpt HD experience to the manager.530-1300
