Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (08:00 - 18:30) Experience: 2 years of inpatient PACU experience License: Active compact license or valid state license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Epic experience Vasoactive drip titration experience Description: Candidates must have two years of inpatient PACU experience with general, orthopedic, and neuro patients. Candidates should be proficient in vasoactive drip titration. Epic experience is required; no exceptions will be made. Preferences will be given to candidates with ICU or ED experience, but candidates without this can still be considered. The patient diagnoses and surgeries include hernia repair, laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, colon resection, tonsil/adenoid surgeries, tympanoplasty, nasal/septoplasty, gynecological procedures, robotic surgeries, prostatectomy, cystectomy, and orthopedic surgeries such as total hip, knee, shoulder replacements, and spine procedures. Candidates will rotate between Phase I and Phase II PACU. Duties will include pre/post-operative care for endoscopy, including elective, urgent, emergent procedures, and ERCP with anesthesia. Experience with blood patch PACU and On-Q pain catheter insertion is preferred. Candidates should be familiar with special equipment such as ceiling lifts, pumps, and lab monitors. Call is required, with three night shifts per month, and candidates may be asked to float between pre/post-op and PACU. Weekend and holiday call are optional. Candidates must exhibit reliable transportation. All sensitive onboarding items must be completed in a timely manner to ensure compliance.
